| Fraser driver slowing down
The Province Friday, November 1, 2002 Page: A49 Section: Sports Byline: Tom Wolski Column: Hoss Talk During his 30 years-plus of driving winning standardbred horses, former Fraser Downs driver Keith Linton won many accolades from both racing fans and his peers. In a career which began at age 17 in Saskatchewan, Linton was named top driver in North America four times. A fierce desire to win got him into the winner's circle many times and his drives won over $5.2 million. Linton became known as "the Mighty Mite from Moose Jaw." Despite cutting back on drives recently, Linton continues his routine of never missing mornings at Fraser Downs. Last Saturday, after not feeling well, he was taken to the acute care section of Langley Memorial Hospital, where he remains under observation. "Yes, it's tough right now, but there's no way I plan on pulling up this old war horse," said Linton from his hospital bed. The bettor also owned 108 consolation tickets that had five of six races picked correctly, each worth $4,606.20. The total amount won, $3,067,821.60.
